Methodology:
Mixtures of solute and solvent in about 1 to 5 ratios were rotated in a thermostat bath for 12 hours. After equilibrium was attained, samples were withdrawn and filtered through cotton-wool. The determination of the water content was based upon the reaction of water with o-naphthoxydichlorophosphine. The evolved $\ce{HCl}$ was absorbed in water and titrated with standard $\ce{NaOH}$ solution [1]. From 2-4 successive determinations were made with the solvent.
Sample Information:
- Distilled (compiler).
- Merck reagent, analytical grade, redistilled before use.
Measurement Errors:
Ambient temperature: ±0.02 K.
Mass concentration (m/v) (1): ±1.6%.
