Volume 70. Solubility of Gases in Glassy Polymers, p None

Source Publication

Conditions:

Room Temp: 308 $\pu{K}$
Pressure: 0.1 - 2.6 $\pu{MPa}$

Compiler:

A.K. Bokarev

Methodology:

Measurement of gas solubility was performed using a pressure decay method with a dual-volume dual transducers system (see also [1]). In order to achieve superior precision the ratio of the two working volumes should be close to 1. It was shown that the reduction of the ratio from 9.7 to 1.45 resulted in much less scatter.

Sample Information:
  1. $\ce{N2}$: purity >99%. PC (Bisphenol A polycarbonate): Lexan, General Electric Co., $M_{\rm{w}}$ = 35800.
Measurement Errors:

Mass concentration (m/v) (1): Relative precision of solubilities: ±0.07 cm3(STP)/cm3 polymer.
