Volume 67. Halogenated Ethanes and Ethenes with Water, p 458

Original Measurements

Prosyanov, N. N.; Shalygin, V. A.; Zel'venskii, Ya. D.; Tr. Mosk. Khim. Tekhnol. Inst. 1973, 100.

Variables:

Room Temp: 287 - 373 $\pu{K}$

Prepared by:

A.L. Horvath

Method/Apparatus/Procedure:

The distribution coefficient was determined by distillation. An inert carrier gas stream was used to take samples from the equilibrium vapor phase. The concentration of the trichloroethene in both liquid and vapor phases was determined by using $\ce{^{36}Cl}$ labeled compound.

Source and Purity of Materials:
  1. Source and purity not given.
  2. Distilled (compiler).
Estimated Errors:

Ambient temperature: ±0.5 K (compiler).
Mass concentration (m/v) (1): Not specified.

Components:
  1. Trichloroethylene, $\ce{ C2HCl3 }$; [79-01-6] NIST WebBook
  2. Water, $\ce{ H2O }$; [7732-18-5] NIST WebBook
