Method/Apparatus/Procedure:
The apparatus is a combination of previous designs [1,2]. It was modified to achieve a more accurate determination of the volume of the absorbent liquid. The apparatus measures the volume of absorbed gas as the volume of mercury that must be supplied to the system in order to restore the initial pressure.
The raw solubility data obtained are gas/ liquid volume ratios. A detailed description of apparatus, method and procedure is given in [3].
Source and Purity of Materials:
- Commercial, purity 99.5 mole%
- Merck. Grade not given.
- Distilled and degassed.
Estimated Errors:
Ambient temperature: δT/K = ±0.1
Mass concentration (m/v) (1): δc1/c1 < ±1% [estimated by compiler on the basis of the information in Ref. 3]
Pressure: δP/bar = ±0.001
