Components:

(1) Carbon dioxide, CO2; [124-38-9] NIST WebBook
(2) Water, H2O; [7732-18-5] NIST WebBook

Original Measurements

Kunerth, W.; Phys. Rev. 1922, 2, 512-24.

Variables:

Ambient temperature: 293 - 307 K
Pressure: "atmospheric"

Prepared by:

R. Crovetto

Method/Apparatus/Procedure:

McDaniel type apparatus.1
Vigorous shaking was provided to obtain equilibrium. The equilibrium composition was determined by volumetric analysis. The gas was saturated with solvent at the temperature of the measurement. Total pressure in the system was equal to the barometric pressure.

Source and Purity of Materials:
  1. Obtained by heating NaHCO3. Dried over CaCl2 and stored in a glass bulb.
  2. Distilled. Tested by boiling point and density.
Estimated Errors:

Mass concentration (m/v) (1): δL = ±1%
