Original Measurements

Tewari, Y. B.; Miller, M. M.; Wasik, S. P.; Martire, D. E.; J. Chem. Eng. Data 1982, 27, 451-4.

Variables:

Room Temp: 298 $\pu{K}$

Prepared by:

A.L. Horvath

Method/Apparatus/Procedure:

The modified generator column method was used. A chromatographic column was coated with bromochloromethane. An aqueous phase was generated by pumping water through the coated generator column. The aqueous solution was analyzed by a gas chromatography. The gas chromatograph was equipped with a flame ionization detector. On average, at least three measurements were taken.

Source and Purity of Materials:
  1. Source not known, at least 99% pure by GC analysis.
  2. Baker-analyzed HPLC grade.
Estimated Errors:

Ambient temperature: ±0.1 K.
Mass concentration (m/v) (1): ±1.0%.

Components:
  1. Bromochloromethane, $\ce{ CH2BrCl }$; [74-97-5] NIST WebBook
  2. Water, $\ce{ H2O }$; [7732-18-5] NIST WebBook
