Method/Apparatus/Procedure:
A flask was charged with a trichloromethane and water mixture of approximately the desired composition. The system was allowed to equilibrate in a water bath at the desired temperature. Samples were withdrawn from the two layers and concentrations were determined. The analytical techniques are described elsewhere [1].
Source and Purity of Materials:
- U. S. P. grade. Washed with $\ce{H2SO4}$ and $\ce{K2CO3}$ solutions and then distilled. Only the center cut was used.
- Deionized, distilled twice before use.
Estimated Errors:
Ambient temperature: ±0.1 K.
Mass concentration (m/v) (1): Not specified.
