Source Publication

Conditions:

Room Temp: 303 $\pu{K}$

Compiler:

A.L. Horvath

Methodology:

Standard tribromomethane solutions of increasing concentration were prepared in volumetric flasks as described elsewhere [1]. The aqueous organic liquid phase was 25 mL and the vapor phase above the mixture was 35 mL. The system was allowed to reach equilibrium in a constant temperature bath and then a sample was injected into the gas chromatograph. Values reported are an average of at least 5 measurements.

Sample Information:
  1. Chemical Service, West Chester, PA., USA., purest grade available.
  2. Distilled and run through two Barnstead purification cartridges.
Measurement Errors:

Ambient temperature: ±0.5 K (compiler).
Mass concentration (m/v) (1): ±5.92% std. dev.
