Variables:

Room Temp: 298 $\pu{K}$

Prepared by:

A.L. Horvath

Method/Apparatus/Procedure:

An aqueous solution with an excess of tribromomethane was stirred for one day before being introduced into a 1 L glass vessel. Nitrogen entered at the bottom of the vessel through a sintered glass disk. The exit gas flow rate was measured by a soap bubble flow meter. The concentration of tribromomethane in water was determined by gas chromatography. The GC was equipped with both dual flame ionization detector and an electron capture detector.

Source and Purity of Materials:
  1. Source and purity not given.
  2. doubly distilled.
Estimated Errors:

Ambient temperature: ±1.0 K.
Mass concentration (m/v) (1): Not specified.
