Volume 78. Acetonitrile Binary Systems, p 1008

Source Publication

Poppe, G.; Bull. Soc. Chim. Belg. 44, 640-57 (1935).

Conditions:

Room Temp: 324 $\pu{K}$
Pressure: 582 - 9803

Compiler:

V.P. Sazonov

Methodology:

The synthetic method was used. Observations were carried out in sealed tubes in the presence of the vapor phase. A Cailletet tube with a Kuenen electromagnetic stirrer was used in the experiments at higher pressure. A thermostating cylinder was also used to control the temperature.

Sample Information:
  1. Obtained from the Bureau Etalons Physico-Chimiques.
  2. Obtained from the Bureau Etalons Physico-Chimiques.
Measurement Errors:

Pressure: ±100 kPa.

System Components:
  1. Acetonitrile, $\ce{ C2H3N }$; [75-05-8] NIST WebBook
  2. Carbon disulfide, $\ce{ CS2 }$; [75-15-0] NIST WebBook
Experimental Data

The upper critical solution temperature (UCST) was reported to be 50.90°C (324.05 K, compiler). The value of dTc/dP was reported to be 0.0197 K·kPa-1 in the pressure range 582 kPa to 9803 kPa.
