Compilation - Nitroethane with Dodecanamide (IUPAC SDS Volume 77)
SDS Volume (4979)
Volume 77. Nitroalkanes with Water or Organic Solvents: Binary and Multicomponent Systems, p None
Original Measurements
Ralston, A. W.; Hoerr, C. W.; Pool, W. O.; J. Org. Chem. 8, 473-88 (1943).
Variables:
Room Temp: 283 - 373 $\pu{K}$
Prepared by:
N.I. Lisov, N.V. Sazonov, V.P. Sazonov
Method/Apparatus/Procedure:
The synthetic method was used. The solubilities of [2] in [1] were determined in sealed tubes by the method and apparatus described in Ralston, et al. [1], and Hoerr and Ralston [2].
Source and Purity of Materials:
- Source not specified; best grade reagent; dried and twice distilled.
- Prepared by passing of ammonia through the dodecanoic acid at 190°C - 210°C for 10 to 14 hrs; purified by recrystallization; FP = 102.4°C.
Estimated Errors:
Ambient temperature: control to ±0.2 K
