Volume 73. Metal and Ammonium Formate Systems, p None

Source Publication

Vasileva, V.; Karapetkova, A.; Bulg. Chem. Commun. 28, 151-9 (1995).

Conditions:

Room Temp: 10 - 80 °C

Compilers:

St. Trendafilova, Chr. Balarew

Methodology:

The isothermal solubility method was used. Equilibrium was reached in 5-7 hrs. in an argon atmosphere. $\ce{Fe^{2+}}$ was first oxidized to $\ce{Fe^{3+}}$ with $\ce{H2O2}$ and then determined complexometrically at pH 1.5 and sulfosalicylic acid as indicator. The solid phase composition was determined by the graphic method of Schreinemakers for wet residues [1]. X-ray diffraction analysis was also used.

Sample Information:
  1. Iron formate was prepared by dissolution of iron powder in dilute formic acid. All reagents were p.a. grade.
