Volume 73. Metal and Ammonium Formate Systems, p None

Source Publication

Sokolov, N. M.; Zh. Obshch. Khim. 24, 1150-6 (1954).

Conditions:

Compiler:

G. D'Andrea

Methodology:

A visual polythermal method was used. The salts were melted in a test tube. The temperatures were measured with a Nichrome-Constantan thermocouple and a 17mV full scale millivoltmeter.

Sample Information:
  1. Component (1) was synthesized from formic acid and $\ce{NaHCO3}$. Component (2) was a commercially available product and was further purified by the author according to Laiti.
Measurement Errors:

Ambient temperature: The compiler estimates the accuracy of the temperature measurements to be probably ±2 K.
Mass concentration (m/v) (1): No information is given.

System Components:
  1. Sodium formate, $\ce{ NaCHO2 }$; [141-53-7] NIST WebBook
  2. Sodium nitrate, $\ce{ NaNO3 }$; [7631-99-4] NIST WebBook
