Conditions:

Compiler:

P. Baldini

Methodology:

The only information given is that a thermograph was used with a photorecorder and that the salt(s) were sealed under vacuum in Pyrex ampules.

Sample Information:
  1. Analytical grade $\ce{NaCHO2}$ and chemically pure $\ce{NaCHS}$ were heated 10-15 hrs at temperatures 50-60°C below their fusion temperatures.
Measurement Errors:

Ambient temperature: The compiler estimates the accuracy of the temperature measurements to be probably ±2 K.
Mass concentration (m/v) (1): No information is given.

System Components:
  1. Sodium formate, $\ce{ NaCHO2 }$; [141-53-7] NIST WebBook
  2. Sodium thiocyanate, $\ce{ NaCNS }$; [540-72-7] NIST WebBook
Experimental Data

Note 1: There is one eutectic: at 170°C and 100 x2 = 36.
Note 2: The data tabulated above were drawn by the compiler from Fig. 1 of the original paper.
