Volume 73. Metal and Ammonium Formate Systems, p None

Original Measurements

Pochtakova, E. I.; Zh. Obshch. Khim. 44, 241-8 (1974).

Variables:

Prepared by:

P. Baldini

Method/Apparatus/Procedure:

A visual polythermal method was used.

Source and Purity of Materials:
  1. The materials were prepared by reacting CP carbonates with a slight excess of formic acid [1].
    Component (1) undergoes a phase transition at 140°C [2].
    Component (2) undergoes a phase transition at 242°C [1].
Estimated Errors:

Ambient temperature: The compiler estimates the accuracy of the temperature measurements to be probably ±2 K.
Mass concentration (m/v) (1): No information is given.

  2. Sodium formate, $\ce{ NaCHO2 }$; [141-53-7] NIST WebBook
Experimental Data

Note: The system was investigated at 0 ≤ 100 x1 ≤ 30 due to thermal instability of component 1. A eutectic is present at 252°C and 100 x1 = 21.
