Source and Purity of Materials:
- The salt was prepared from pure formic acid and magnesium carbonate or hydroxide; purity is not specified. Commercial formic acid was used.

Ambient temperature: The temperature was controlled to within ±0.01°C. Nothing is said about the solubility values.
