Conditions:

Room Temp: Composition at 25 °C

Compilers:

St. Trendafilova, Chr. Balarew

Methodology:

The system was studied by the isothermal solubility method. Equilibrium was reached in about 48 h. $\ce{Ni^{2+}}$ was determined complexometrically at pH 5 using 'tetra' as indicator [1]. $\ce{Sr^{2+}}$ was also determined complexometrically at pH 10.5-11.0 using Calzein and Thymolblue as indicator. The solid phase composition was determined by the graphic method of Schreinemakers', X-ray diffraction analysis and IR spectroscopy.

Sample Information:
  1. The formates of strontium and nickel were prepared by dissolving strontium carbonate and basic nickel carbonate, respectively, in formic acid. The reagents used were "p.a.'' grade.
Measurement Errors:

Ambient temperature: Not given.
Mass concentration (m/v) (1): Not given.

(a) The molality values were calculated by the compilers.

(b) The solid phases are: A = Sr(CHO2)2·2H2O; B = Ni(CHO2)2.·2H2O.
