Source Publication

Sazonov, V. P.; Zhilyaeva, I. N.; Gudkina, L. V.; Zh. Fiz. Khim. 49, 1594-5 (1975).

Conditions:

Room Temp: 281 - 417 $\pu{K}$

Compilers:

N.V. Sazonov, V.P. Sazonov

Methodology:

The synthetic method was used. Temperatures of phase transitions were determined both on heating and cooling of the mixtures, and the average temperature value obtained was taken. Measurements were carried out in a thermostat containing silicone oil at temperatures above 80 °C.

Sample Information:
  1. Source not specified; pure grade reagent; dried and twice distilled in glass packed column.
  2. Source not specified; analytical purity; dried and twice distilled in presence of zinc dust under vacuum.
  3. Analytical purity; dried and twice distilled under vacuum; 0.03 mass% water by the Karl Fischer analysis.
  4. Source not specified; dried and fractionated.
Measurement Errors:

Ambient temperature: ±0.01 K (283 K to 313 K); ±0.05 K (313 K to 343 K); ±0.1 K (above 343 K).

Experimental Data

The temperatures of phase transitions were determined in quaternary mixtures with a constant mass content of (3), respectively, 5.0, 10.0, 20.0, 30.0, 40.0, and 50.0 mass %, and with a constant mass content of (1), respectively, 9.5, 19.0, and 38.0; 9.0, 18.0 and 36.0; 4.0, 8.0, 16.0 and 32.0; 21.0 and 28.0; 6.0, 12.0 and 24.0; 5.0, 10.0, and 20.0 mass %, and in quaternary mixtures with a constant mass content of (3), respectively, 5.0, 10.0, and 20.0, and with a constant mass relationship of (2) and (4), namely 72.5:27.5 ratio. L1 nitromethane-rich phase; L2 diiodomethane-rich phase; L3 ethanediol-rich phase; L4 cyclohexane-rich phase. The phase which is being dissolved is indicated in the table.
