Variables:

Room Temp: 298 - 323 $\pu{K}$

Prepared by:

V.P. Sazonov

Method/Apparatus/Procedure:

Two methods were used. The solubility temperatures of the liquid phases were determined by the synthetic method (Alekseev [1]) The analytical method described in Nikurashina and Mertslin [2] was used for determining equilibrium liquid phase compositions. Samples from coexisting liquid phases at equilibrium were analyzed by refractometry. No experimental details given.

Source and Purity of Materials:
  1. Source not specified; purity not specified; BP = 101.3°C/102 kPa, $n_{D}^{20}$ = 1.3820, $d_{4}^{20}$ = 1.1320.
  2. Source not specified, purity not specified; BP = 217°C/20 kPa, MP = 28°C, $n_{D}^{20}$ = 1.4780, $d_{4}^{20}$ = 1.0965.
  3. Source not specified, purity not specified; BP = 111°C/1.33 kPa, MP = 6°C, $n_{D}^{20}$ = 1.4370, $d_{4}^{20}$ = 0.8290.

Experimental Data

The solubility temperatures of the liquid phases were determined in ternary mixtures with a constant mass content of (1), respectively, 55, 65, and 75 mass %, and also in ternary mixtures with a constant mass relationship of (2) and (3) as 16:84, 32:68, 47:53, 61:39, 75:25, and 89:11, respectively. These data were also reported in graphical form as isothermal curves of ternary system solubility.
The compositions of two coexistent liquid phases at 40°C are presented in graphical form.
