Conditions:
Room Temp: 293 $\pu{K}$

Methodology:
The analytical method was used. A sample of (2) was placed with the appropriate amount of pure solvent in a small flask. The contents of the flask were warmed to 30 to 50 °C, agitated with excess crystals for 15 min, and then placed in a constant temperature bath at 20 °C with intermittent shaking for 6 to 8 h. Crystallization of the supersaturated solution occurred, and when equilibrium was reached the solution was quickly decanted, filtered from the fine crystals, and placed in a stoppered flask at 20 °C for analysis.
Sample Information:
- Synthesized by standard method; thoroughly dried and fractionally distilled.
- Source not specified; A.R. grade; not purified.
Measurement Errors:
Ambient temperature: ±0.05 K.
Mass concentration (m/v) (1): ±0.002 mass fraction.
System Components:
- Nitromethane, $\ce{ CH3NO2 }$; [75-52-5] NIST WebBook
- Uranyl nitrate hexahydrate, $\ce{ UO2(NO3)2(6H2O) }$; [13520-83-7] NIST WebBook
Experimental Data
The solubility of uranyl nitrate in nitromethane at 20.0°C (293.2 K, compiler) was reported to be 100 w2 = 14.0. The corresponding mole fraction, x2, calculated by the compiler is 0.025.
