Volume 70. Solubility of Gases in Glassy Polymers, p None

Original Measurements

Ichiraku, Y.; Stern, S. A.; Nakagawa, T.; J. Membr. Sci. 34, 5 (1987).

Variables:

Room Temp: 308 and 328 $\pu{K}$
Pressure: 0 - 2.7 $\pu{MPa}$

Prepared by:

Yu.P. Yampol'skii

Method/Apparatus/Procedure:

The solubility was measured by a volumetric method. The apparatus and the procedure are described in detail in [1].

Source and Purity of Materials:
  1. Gases: purity >99.5%.
    PTMSP: Sanyo Chemical Industries, $\rho = \pu{0.938 g mL-1}$, $M_{\rm{w}}$ = 700 000, no glass transition observed below 473 K.
Estimated Errors:

Mass concentration (m/v) (1): Relative precision of solubilities: from ±6.6%(C02) to ±54%(N2).

(1) Data for the solubilities were shown graphically as a function of pressure. Values for the lower pressure region for which the relation was linear, were read from enlarged graphs by the compiler. Additional data were shown to at least $\pu{10.1 MPa}$.
