Volume 70. Solubility of Gases in Glassy Polymers, p None

Original Measurements

Pope, D. S.; Feming, G. K.; Koros, W. J.; Macromolecules 23, 2988 (1990).

Variables:

Room Temp: 308 $\pu{K}$
Pressure: 0 - 5 $\pu{MPa}$

Prepared by:

Yu.P. Yampol'skii

Method/Apparatus/Procedure:

Two methods of conditioning were studied. Conventionally conditioned isotherms were obtained with the samples which had been previously in contact with $\ce{CO2}$ gas under pressure of 6.21 MPa for 2-3 h with consequent pumping for two days. Exchange conditioning runs a gravimetric technique was used. In two other types of experiments a pressure decay method was applied [1].

Source and Purity of Materials:
  1. $\ce{CH4}$: purity 99.99%. TMPC: Dow Chemical Co., $\rho = \pu{1.08 g mL-1}$, $T_{\rm{g}}$ = 476 K.
Estimated Errors:

Ambient temperature: No information given.
