Volume 67. Halogenated Ethanes and Ethenes with Water, p 619

Source Publication

Rex, A.; Z. Phys. Chem. 1906, 55U, 355-70.

Conditions:

Room Temp: 273 - 303 $\pu{K}$

Compiler:

A.L. Horvath

Methodology:

The solubility of iodoethane in water was determined using specially designed flasks with calibrated capillary cylinders. After the samples were equilibrated in a thermostatic bath at the desired temperature, their volumes and the weights were determined and the solubility calculated.

Sample Information:
  1. Kahlbaum, redistilled and washed before use, BP = 72.3°C.
  2. Distilled.
Measurement Errors:

Ambient temperature: ±0.5 K (compiler).
Mass concentration (m/v) (1): Not specified.

System Components:
  1. Iodoethane, $\ce{ C2H5I }$; [75-03-6] NIST WebBook
  2. Water, $\ce{ H2O }$; [7732-18-5] NIST WebBook
