Volume 67. Halogenated Ethanes and Ethenes with Water, p 607

Original Measurements

Bobok, D.; Kossaczký, E.; Surový, J.; Collect. Czech. Chem. Commun. 54, 2848 (1989).

Variables:

Room Temp: 306 - 381 $\pu{K}$

Prepared by:

A.L. Horvath

Method/Apparatus/Procedure:

Samples were prepared of different composition by mixing the determined amount of pure components in sealed glass ampoules. A homologous liquid phase was achieved by heating the sample sufficiently. Upon cooling, the temperature was found when the turbidity of the solution appeared at a given composition.

Source and Purity of Materials:
  1. Supplied by Lachema, Brno, designated by "Import." Redistilled before use, 99.9% pure.
  2. Double distilled
Estimated Errors:

Ambient temperature: ±0.1 K.
Mass concentration (m/v) (1): ±0.0251 std. dev.(1). ±6.2 × 10-5 std. dev.(2).

Components:
  1. 1,2-Dichloroethane, $\ce{ C2H4Cl2 }$; [107-06-2] NIST WebBook
  2. Water, $\ce{ H2O }$; [7732-18-5] NIST WebBook
