Volume 67. Halogenated Ethanes and Ethenes with Water, p 593

Original Measurements

Johnson, J. R.; Christian, S. D.; Affsprung, H. E.; J. Chem. Soc. A. 1966, 77-8.

Variables:

Room Temp: 283 - 298 $\pu{K}$

Prepared by:

A.L. Horvath

Method/Apparatus/Procedure:

Samples of the organic-water solutions were equilibrated in waterbath isotherms. The description of the solute isopiestic apparatus has been reported elsewhere [1]. Water solubility was determined using the Beckman Model KF-3 Aquameter.

Source and Purity of Materials:
  1. Distilled (compiler).
  2. Source not given. Reagent grade, distilled in an Oldershaw column before use.
Estimated Errors:

Ambient temperature: ±0.1 K.
Mass concentration (m/v) (1): ±1.2 × 10-3.
