Conditions:

Room Temp: 298 $\pu{K}$

Compiler:

A.L. Horvath

Methodology:

A known volume of water was mixed with tetrachloroethene in an Erlenmeyer flask. The flask was immersed in a water bath and magnetically stirred. Samples were removed for analyses at regular intervals. All samples were analyzed using a gas-liquid chromatography equipped with an electron capture detector. The solubility given is the average of five consecutive samples with less than 5 % variation.

Sample Information:
  1. Source not given; analytical grade, purity greater than 95%.
  2. Distilled and run through a resin column.
Measurement Errors:

Ambient temperature: ±0.5 K.
Mass concentration (m/v) (1): Not specified.

System Components:
  1. Tetrachloroethene, $\ce{ C2Cl4 }$; [127-18-4] NIST WebBook
  2. Water, $\ce{ H2O }$; [7732-18-5] NIST WebBook
