Method/Apparatus/Procedure:
The equilibrium was established through repeated shaking and centrifuging of a 1,2-dibromoethane and water mixture in a stoppered Goetz tube and returned the tube to a constant temperature water bath. The difference between the total amount of 1,2-dibromoethane which was added and the amount which remained in excess was the amount of solute dissolved in the known volume of water. The determination of the excess amount of solute added is described in the Ph.D. thesis of Hanslick [1].
Source and Purity of Materials:
- Commercial reagent, G.P. grade, used as received.
- Distilled.
Estimated Errors:
Ambient temperature: ±1 K (compiler).
Mass concentration (m/v) (1): Not specified.
