Method/Apparatus/Procedure:
Standard 1,1,2-trichloroethane solutions of increasing concentration were prepared in volumetric flasks as described elsewhere [1]. The aqueous organic liquid phase was 25 mL and the vapor phase above the mixture was 35 mL. The system was allowed to reach equilibrium in a constant temperature bath and then a sample was injected into the gas chromatograph. Values reported are an average of at least 5 measurements.
Source and Purity of Materials:
- Chemical Service, West Chester, PA., USA., purest grade available.
- Distilled and run through two Barnstead purification cartridges.
Estimated Errors:
Ambient temperature: ±0.5 K (compiler).
Mass concentration (m/v) (1): ±7.8% std. dev.
