Method/Apparatus/Procedure:
Samples were equilibrated for at least ten days in a waterbath thermostat. The pH of the samples was adjusted by addition of either hydrochloric acid or sodium hydroxide. The concentration of 1,1,2-trichloroethane was determined using a Perkin-Elmer model 900 gas chromatograph equipped with a flame ionization detector and an automatic digital integrator.
Source and Purity of Materials:
- Source not given, contained less than 0.1% dissolved material.
- Distilled (compiler).
Estimated Errors:
Ambient temperature: ±0.1 K.
Mass concentration (m/v) (1): See table above.
Components:
- 1,1,2-Trichloroethane, $\ce{ C2H3Cl3 }$; [79-00-5] NIST WebBook
- Water, $\ce{ H2O }$; [7732-18-5] NIST WebBook
