Variables:

Room Temp: 293 $\pu{K}$

Prepared by:

A.L. Horvath

Method/Apparatus/Procedure:

An excess of pentachloroethane was added to 10 mL distilled water in a 50 mL flask. The mixture was magnetically stirred in a constant temperature water bath. The equilibrium mixture was analyzed by using radioactive techniques. The $\ce{^{14}C}$ activity of the water samples was measured in a liquid scintillation spectrometer by recording the number of counts per minute.

Source and Purity of Materials:
  1. Source and purity not given.
  2. Distilled.
