Variables:

Room Temp: 298 $\pu{K}$

Prepared by:

A.L. Horvath

Method/Apparatus/Procedure:

The solubility was determined by mixing definite quantities of tetrachloroethene with a large volume of water and measuring the volume of the undissolved tetrachloroethene.

Source and Purity of Materials:
  1. Commercial grade, further purified by washing with $\ce{NaHCO3}$ solution and then redistilled.
  2. Distilled.
Estimated Errors:

Ambient temperature: ±0.5 K (compiler).
Mass concentration (m/v) (1): Not specified.

Components:
  1. Tetrachloroethene, $\ce{ C2Cl4 }$; [127-18-4] NIST WebBook
  2. Water, $\ce{ H2O }$; [7732-18-5] NIST WebBook
