Method/Apparatus/Procedure:
The titration was performed in an Erlenmeyer flask by adding trichloroethene to water until a permanent turbidity was observed. The flask was immersed in a thermostat bath while maintaining a constant agitation by means of a magnetic stirrer.
Source and Purity of Materials:
- Fluka reagent, laboratory grade, further purified by distillation; middle fraction was used.
- Distilled.
Estimated Errors:
Ambient temperature: ±0.05 K.
Mass concentration (m/v) (1): Not specified.
Components:
- Trichloroethylene, $\ce{ C2HCl3 }$; [79-01-6] NIST WebBook
- Water, $\ce{ H2O }$; [7732-18-5] NIST WebBook
