Original Measurements

Farkas, E. J.; Anal. Chem. 1965, 37, 1173-5.

Variables:

Room Temp: 25 °C

Prepared by:

A. Maczynski, A. Szafranski

Method/Apparatus/Procedure:

The solubility of (1) in (2) has been evaluated from vapor pressure measurements in a specially constructed reactor described in the paper. Theoretical basis is included.

Source and Purity of Materials:
  1. Not specified.
  2. not specified.
Estimated Errors:

Mass concentration (m/v) (1): ±6% (mean from three determinations)(compiler)

Components:
  1. Cyclohexene, $\ce{ C6H10 }$; [110-83-8] NIST WebBook
  2. Water, $\ce{ H2O }$; [7732-18-5] NIST WebBook
Experimental Data

The solubility of cyclohexene in water at 77°F was reported to be 0.000114, 0.000121, and 0.000128 lb mol(1) ft-3.
The corresponding temperature, mass percent, and mole fraction, x1, calculated by compilers at 25°C, 0.016 g(1)/100 g sln, and 3.5 × 10-5. The assumption that 1 ft3 sln = 28.32 kg sln was used in the calculation.
