Volume 62. Carbon Dioxide in Water and Aqueous Electrolyte Solutions, p None

Original Measurements

Bartels, H; Wrbitzky, R.; Pflügers Arch. 1960, 271, 162-8.

Variables:

Room Temp: 288.15 - 311.15 $\pu{K}$
Pressure: "atmospheric" $\pu{atm}$

Prepared by:

P. Scharlin

Method/Apparatus/Procedure:

Water was saturated with $\ce{CO2}$ in rotating tonometer. The technique is described in [1].
The $\ce{CO2}$ contents of the equilibrated solutions was determined in the manometric gas apparatus [2].

Source and Purity of Materials:
  1. From cylinder; purity 99.8%.
  2. Distilled.
Estimated Errors:

Ambient temperature: δT/K = ±0.1
Mass concentration (m/v) (1): 0.004 < absolute value of δα/α < 0.02
