Volume 62. Carbon Dioxide in Water and Aqueous Electrolyte Solutions, p None

Original Measurements

Kritschewsky, I. R.; Shaworonkoff, N. M.; Aepelbaum, V. A.; Z. Phys. Chem. 1935, 175, 232-8.

Variables:

Room Temp: 293.15 and 303.15 $\pu{K}$
Pressure: 490 - 2942 $\pu{kPa}$

Prepared by:

R. Crovetto

Method/Apparatus/Procedure:

A 'conventional' high pressure apparatus was used. Equilibrium in the system was attained by bubbling gas at constant pressure. The equilibrium composition in the system was determined by measuring the volume of water, and the pressure and volume of the dissolved $\ce{CO2}$ in a buret that was thermostatted. The solubilities of the gas mixtures $\ce{CO2}-\ce{H2}$ were also measured with the same experimental apparatus. Details are given in the source. The authors calculated the fugacity of the pure gas from [1].

Source and Purity of Materials:
  1. Nothing specified.
Estimated Errors:

Ambient temperature: δT/K = ±0.1
Pressure: δP/kg cm-2 = ±0.1
