Conditions:

Room Temp: 323.15 and 348.15 $\pu{K}$
Pressure: 37.9 bar - 145.1 bar $\pu{bar}$
Molality (2): m2/mol kg-1 = 0.95 - 2.72 mol/kg

Methodology:

The apparatus was designed for the measurement of $\ce{Na2SO4}$ solubility in aqueous solutions of $\ce{CO2}$. The equilibrium cell is a high pressure stainless steel Jerguson liquid level gauge with an internal volume of about 150 mL. Mixing is achieved by recirculating both phases for about four hours. The apparatus is in an air bath controlled to $\pu{\pm 0.1 K}$, pressure is measured with a Heise bourdan tube pressure gauge to $\pu{\pm 0.02 MPa}$. The carbon dioxide is measured in a calibrated, about 1.3 mL, sampling loop. The gas is 'flashed' to atmospheric pressure and the volume of $\ce{CO2}$ gas measured to an accuracy of $\pu{1\%}$ by displacement of a $\ce{CO2}$ saturated aqueous solution.

Sample Information:
  1. Carbon dioxide. No information.
  2. Sodium sulfate. No information.
  3. Water. No information.
Measurement Errors:

Ambient temperature: δT/K = ±0.1
Mass concentration (m/v) (1): δx1/x1 = ±0.01
Pressure: δP/bar = ±0.2

(a) Calculated by compiler.
It was assumed the mole fraction was based on the total moles,
nt = nCO2 + nH2O + nNa+ + nSO42-.
