Experimental Data

The enthalpy of solution of CO2 from the temperature coefficient of the Bunsen coefficient is 23.640 kJ mol-1 (5650 cal mol-1) in water and 18.577 kJ mol-1 (4440 cal mol-1),18.912 kJ mol-1 (4520 cal mol-1), and 18.326 kJ mol-1 (4380 cal mol-1) for the 0.1, 0.5 and 0.8 mass % Fe2O3·xH2O solution, respectively.
The values for the solubility of CO2 in water were not given in the paper.
Fe2O3·xH2O is described as a sol (colloidal).
