Experimental Data

The enthalpy of solution of CO2 from the temperature coefficient of the Bunsen coefficient is 23.640 kJ mol-1 (5650 cal mol-1) in water and 18.828 kJ mol-1 (4500 cal mol-1), 17.782 kJ mol-1 (4250 cal mol-1), and 16.527 kJ mol-1 (3950 cal mol-1) for the 0.1, 0.35 and 0.42 mass % Al2O3·xH2O solution, respectively.
The values for the solubility of CO2 in water were not given in the paper.
Al2O3·xH2O is described as a sol (colloidal).
