Volume 60. Halogenated Methanes with Water, p None

Original Measurements

Johnson, J. R.; Christian, S. D.; Affsprung, H. E.; J. Chem. Soc. A. 1966, 77-8.

Variables:

Room Temp: 298 $\pu{K}$

Prepared by:

A.L. Horvath

Method/Apparatus/Procedure:

Samples of water and tetrachloromethane mixtures were equilibrated in a constant temperature waterbath. The solute isopiestic apparatus has been described elsewhere [1]. The water solubilities were determined using a Beckman Model KF-3 Aquameter.

Source and Purity of Materials:
  1. Distilled (compiler).
  2. Source not given, reagent grade, distilled in an Oldershaw column before use.
Estimated Errors:

Ambient temperature: ±0.1°C.
Mass concentration (m/v) (1): ±0.3 × 10-3.
