SDS Volume (2504)

Volume 60. Halogenated Methanes with Water, p None

Original Measurements

Booth, H. S.; Everson, H. E.; Ind. Eng. Chem. 1949, 41, 2627-8.

Variables:

Room Temp: 298 - 333 $\pu{K}$

Prepared by:

A.L. Horvath

Method/Apparatus/Procedure:

The solute-solvent mixture in a solubility tube was gently rotated while the tube was immersed in a constant temperature bath. The difference between the total amount of solute and the amount remaining in excess was taken as the amount of solute dissolved in the known volume of solvent. The volumetric determination is described elsewhere [1].

Source and Purity of Materials:
  1. Commercial reagent, C.P. grade, used as received.
  2. distilled.
Estimated Errors:

Ambient temperature: ±0.1 K.
Mass concentration (m/v) (1): Not specified.
