Saturated solutions were prepared and placed in a constant temperature thermostat bath. Water samples were extracted with n-pentane and an aliquot of the extract taken for analysis using a gas-liquid chromatograph. The gas chromatograph was fitted with a $\ce{^{63}Ni}$ electron capture detector.
