Variables:

Room Temp: 293 $\pu{K}$

Prepared by:

A.L. Horvath

Method/Apparatus/Procedure:

An aqueous solution with an excess amount of trichloromethane was stirred for one day before being introduced into a 1 L glass vessel. Nitrogen entered at the bottom of the vessel through a sintered glass disk. The exit gas flow rate was measured by a soap bubble flow meter. The concentration of trichloromethane in water was determined using gas chromatography. The GC was equipped with both dual flame ionization detector and an electron capture detector.

Source and Purity of Materials:
  1. Source and purity not given.
  2. Double distilled.
Estimated Errors:

Ambient temperature: ±1.0 K.
Mass concentration (m/v) (1): Not specified.
