Source Publication

Conditions:

Room Temp: 283 - 303 $\pu{K}$

Compiler:

A.L. Horvath

Methodology:

An excess amount of tribromomethane with water was introduced into 30 mL centrifuge tubes that were closed with a screw cap. The tubes were rotated for three days inside a temperature controlled chamber at 10, 20, and 30 °C, respectively. Samples were taken from the tubes and analyzed by gas chromatography after liquid-liquid extraction. The experiments were carried out in duplicates.

Sample Information:
  1. Source and purity not given.
  2. distilled and deionized.
Measurement Errors:

Ambient temperature: ±0.5 K.
Mass concentration (m/v) (1): ±3.9%.

System Components:
  1. Tribromomethane, $\ce{ CHBr3 }$; [75-25-2] NIST WebBook
  2. Water, $\ce{ H2O }$; [7732-18-5] NIST WebBook
