Method/Apparatus/Procedure:

Standard solutions were prepared in 100 cm3 flasks. They were shaken for 5 minutes and then allowed to equilibrate in a constant temperature bath held at 30oC for 24 hours. Samples were pipetted into headspace vials, sealed, thermostated, and then examined by the gas chromatographic head space analysis technique. An F. & M. Model 402 gas chromatograph equipped with dual columns and dual flame ionization detectors was used.

Source and Purity of Materials:
  1. Chemical Service, West Chester, PA., USA., purest grade available used as received.
  2. Distilled and run through two Barnstead purification cartridges.
Estimated Errors:

Ambient temperature: ±0.5 K (compiler).
Mass concentration (m/v) (1): ±36.4 ppm std. dev.
