Methodology:

Differential scanning calorimeter.
Binary mixtures were prepared by weight. Melting points and transition temperatures determined using a differential scanning calorimeter.
An experimental phase diagram is given in the original paper.

Experimental Data

Authors report formation of a 1:1 pyrene - 2-chloro-1,3,5-trinitrobenzene molecular compound having a melting point of 427.2 K. An eutectic point occurs at x1 = 0.120 and T/K = 348.2. Four incongruently melting pyrene - 2-chloro-1,3,5-trinitrobenzene compounds with 4:3, 2:1, 3:1 and 4:1 stoichoimetries were also reported to exist.
