SDS Volume (2023)
Volume 59. Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons: Binary Non-aqueous Systems, Part II Solutes F-Z, p None
Original Measurements
Lissi, E. A.; Abuin, E. B.; Bol. Soc. Chil. Quim. 1981, 26, 19-34.
Variables:
Room Temp: 293 $\pu{K}$
Prepared by:
Method/Apparatus/Procedure:
Constant temperature bath, centrifuge, thermometer, and a spectrofluorimeter.
Excess solute and solvent were placed in glass vials, pre-equilibrated for several hours at 60-80 ºC, and then equilibrated at 20 ºC for several additional hours. After equilibration and centrifugation, concentrations determined from the measured fluorescence emission intensity.
Source and Purity of Materials:
- Purity not given, commercial sample of unspecified source, was used as received.
- Purity and chemical source not given, purification procedure not specified.
Estimated Errors:
Ambient temperature: T/K: ±2. c1: Unknown.
Components:
- Perylene, $\ce{ C20H12 }$; [198-55-0] NIST WebBook
- Heptane, $\ce{ C7H16 }$; [142-82-5] NIST WebBook
