Original Measurements

Hammick, D. L.; Hellicar, A.; J. Chem. Soc. 1938, 761-763.

Variables:

Room Temp: Temperature $\pu{K}$

Prepared by:

W.E. Acree, Jr.

Method/Apparatus/Procedure:

Temperatures of solid-liquid equilibrium were determined by the synthetic method. Weighed amounts of the two components were sealed in tubes, temperature slowly varied until a mean temperature was found at which a small crystal of the solid phase remained unchanged.

Source and Purity of Materials:
  1. Purity and chemical source were not specified in paper.
  2. Purity and chemical source were not specified in paper.
Estimated Errors:

Ambient temperature: T/K: precision ±0.3 (compiler). x1: ±0.005 (compiler).

Components:
  1. Naphthalene, $\ce{ C10H8 }$; [91-20-3] NIST WebBook
  2. 1,3,5-Trimethyl-2,4,6-trinitrobenzene, $\ce{ C9H9N3O6 }$; [602-96-0] NIST WebBook
