Volume 59. Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons: Binary Non-aqueous Systems, Part II Solutes F-Z, p 89

Source Publication

Djordjevic, N. M.; Thermochim. Acta 1991, 177, 109-118.

Conditions:

Room Temp: Temperature $\pu{K}$

Compiler:

W.E. Acree, Jr.

Methodology:

Differential scanning calorimeter.
Mixtures (1.5 - 2.0 mg) of known concentration were weighed into alumina pans, which were then crimped to preclude sample loss during the heating process. Solubilities determined by measuring melting points of binary mixtures using a PerkinElmer DSC-2 differential scanning calorimeter and scan rate of 5 k/min.

Sample Information:
  1. Gold Label, 99+%, Aldrich Chemical Company, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA, was used as received.
  2. 99%, Aldrich Chemical Company, was vacuum-distilled before use.
Measurement Errors:

Ambient temperature: T/K: precision ±0.3 (compiler). x1: ±0.0003 (compiler).

System Components:
  1. Naphthalene, $\ce{ C10H8 }$; [91-20-3] NIST WebBook
  2. Octadecane, $\ce{ C18H38 }$; [593-45-3] NIST WebBook
