Volume 58. Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons: Binary Non-aqueous Systems, Part I Solutes A-E, p 302

Original Measurements

Lissi, E. A.; Abuin, E. B.; Bol. Soc. Chil. Quim. 1981, 26, 19-34.

Variables:

Room Temp: 293 $\pu{K}$

Prepared by:

W.E. Acree, Jr.

Method/Apparatus/Procedure:

Constant temperature bath, centrifuge, thermometer, and a spectrofluorimeter. Excess solute and solvent were placed in glass vials, pre-equilibrated for several hours at 60-80 °C, and then equilibrated at 20 °C for several additional hours. After equilibration and centrifugation, concentrations determined from the measured absorbance using the Beer-Lambert law.

Source and Purity of Materials:
  1. Purity not given, commercial sample of unspecified source, was used as received.
  2. Purity not given, commercial sample of unspecified source, was used as received.
Estimated Errors:

Ambient temperature: T/K: ±2.
Mass concentration (m/v) (1): c1: Unknown.

Components:
  1. Dibenz[a,h]anthracene, $\ce{ C22H14 }$; [53-70-3] NIST WebBook
  2. Heptane, $\ce{ C7H16 }$; [142-82-5] NIST WebBook
