Volume 58. Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons: Binary Non-aqueous Systems, Part I Solutes A-E, p 32

Source Publication

Djordjevic, N. M.; Thermochim. Acta 1991, 177, 109-118.

Conditions:

Room Temp: 466.5 - 483.0 $\pu{K}$

Compiler:

W.E. Acree, Jr.

Methodology:

Differential scanning calorimeter. Mixtures (1.5 - 2.0 mg) of known concentration were weighed into aluminum pans, which were then crimped to preclude sample loss during the heating process. Solubilities determined by measuring melting points of binary mixtures using a Perkin-Elmer DSC-2 differential scanning calorimeter and scan rate of 5 K/min.

Sample Information:
  1. Gold Label, 99.9+%, Aldrich Chemical Company, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA, used as received.
  2. 99%, Aldrich Chemical Company, was vacuum-distilled before use.
Measurement Errors:

Ambient temperature: T/K: precision ±0.3 (compiler).
Mole fraction - Liquid (1): x1: ±0.0003 (compiler).

System Components:
  1. Anthracene, $\ce{ C14H10 }$; [120-12-7] NIST WebBook
  2. Octadecane, $\ce{ C18H38 }$; [593-45-3] NIST WebBook
